World Literature Description:

World Literature fulfills the senior English requirement here at Hayes High School.  Students will read texts from a variety of different cultures and examine connections between cultures. This course is also highly dependent on research skills in order to prepare students for the academic endeavors that await them after high school.

 

Introduction to Journalism Description:

In Introduction to Journalism,  students will learn all of the basics of journalism, including many different types of writing styles as well as photography and design, while earning credit toward their sophomore, junior or senior English requirement. The class serves as an elective credit for freshmen. Students who complete this course will be eligible to be on the staff of the Talisman, the student newspaper at Hayes.

 

Talisman Description:

Talisman is the student newspaper at Hayes High School.  Staff members of Talisman work during school as well as during extracurricular hours to produce a professional grade newspaper that is available free of charge to all students and staff at Hayes.1 - separator 800x20 .png
